Diabetes-While-PregnantWomen can develop diabetes for the first time while they are pregnant. When this happens it is called Gestational Diabetes.

This type of diabetes is more often than not a result of the hormonal changes caused by pregnancy itself.

Diabetes is the most common type of complication during pregnancy, happening during the course of 3.3 % of live births.

Whether or not women had diabetes before pregnancy the condition can be controlled and does not have to have a negative impact on either the woman or the baby.

For Gestational diabetes not to have an impact on a woman’s health the condition needs to be detected as early as possible.

Gestational-diabetesThe condition can be found by having women take blood glucose tests at prenatal checks.

If Gestational diabetes is diagnosed then steps can be taken that mean it will not be a serious problem.

Some women are more likely than others to develop it, such as African Americans, Hispanics, or those over 25.

These groups should be tested at the first checks.

Those who have it need to do daily monitoring of blood glucose levels and alter their diets.

For instance they could cut out processed sugars and eat more natural glucose sugars instead.

Another option to regulate blood sugar is to take a blood sugar control supplement.
